Line of Events

The Taste of Mango, Chloe Abraham’s debut film, is an engaging, hypnotic, haunting personal meditation on family, memory, identity, violence and love. It centers on three extraordinary women: the director’s mother, Rozana, her grandmother, Jean, and the director herself. Their stories, at times difficult, at times joyful, testify to the tangled and ever-changing nature of inheritance and the ways in which we both hurt and protect the people we love.
