Typically, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. Essentially, they manage the land and secure leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, worker housing (human camp), oversee the assembly of drilling equipment, and the drilling of the well itself, especially in remote locations. For someone so focused on her own goals, the inclusion of an emotionally unstable, one-woman circus completely defeats the purpose of the show. Her character seems to disrupt the central narrative by adding unnecessary chaos rather than supporting her journey. The portrayal doesn’t enhance the plot, but rather makes it difficult to take her determination and focus seriously. Similarly, the roles of both his wife and daughter feel out of place in the series. The wife seems emotionally unstable, while the daughter seems to lack intellectual depth, making her contribution to the plot minimal. The daughter’s portrayal feels particularly shallow, and her character offers only superficial involvement that adds no value to the story. Furthermore, these characters are constantly jumping around in provocative outfits, seemingly for no reason. Other than drawing attention, it doesn’t seem to be in sync with the tone of the series. Rather than enhancing the plot or character dynamics, this approach comes across as a superficial tactic to grab attention. It’s a strange and unnecessary addition that detracts from the overall quality of the narrative.
