The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by striking for the highest prize. He soon meets his match in the form of a tough British intelligence officer who follows him on an exciting cat and mouse chase across Europe.
In the film The Day of the Jackal (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an earlier model. Credit: Graham Norton and guest: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024).
I’m up for episode 5 and so far I’m enjoying the show. It’s quite a stylish production that was filmed all over Europe.
After reading the other reviews I agree that on the contrary Lynch is not the best choice for the main character. The portrayal of the British agent is shockingly bad, similar to the portrayal of 007 in the last bad Bond film, and his domestic problems have nothing to do with the plot, which is the weakest part of the script.
He is credited as an executive producer, God knows how he did it. Apart from his inabilities, the story is quite good and addictive from episodes 3 and 4.
